While a sealant will work for some glazed ceramics others need to be baked in order to make them dishwasher safe. To seal acrylic paint on ceramic mugs you may need a high quality sealant or varnish made for acrylic paint to spray or brush over your work. Allow the paint to cure by letting it air dry for 21 days or to cure quickly bake the item in an oven. Alright internet i m sure you ve seen diys floating around with alternative ways for painting ceramic china glass etc but this is the method that i have found to be foolproof and dishwasher safe.

Set your mugs inside the oven on the rake and let them bake for about 30 minutes. I used vitrea 160 because i had it on hand from painting glass previously. Printed ceramic mugs make more attractive the coffee table. Allow the oven to come to temperature for about 10 minutes then bake the mug for 30 minutes.

After 2 hours remove the mug and set it to cool.
